Our hotel has been working with Hotel for Trees since 2023 and encourages hotel guests to decline room cleaning to conserve water and chemicals. In exchange, the hotel plants a tree per room per night through Trees for All. In March we rethought our approach and were able to significantly increase the number of tree planted from 40-45 to around 120 trees per week, with peaks at 248. Guest can communicate the wish to participate in the program by using the doorhanger on their door. This doorhanger was initially laying on the bed of the guest when entering the room. Since March the initiative is presented on arrival and the doorhanger handed at reception by an agent. This new approach led to this huge increase in participation.
